In the third bout of WPL2023, the Warriorz beat the Giants by 3 wickets.Batting first at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Gujarat sets a target of 169 runs for UP. In response, UP scored 175 runs after losing seven wickets and won the match. But for the Gujrat Giants this is their second defeat in this tournament and the very first win for the UP Warriorz.
Gujarat started this exciting match by winning the toss. Sneh Rana, who is leading Gujarat in the absence of Beth Mooney, after winning the toss elected to bat first.
None of the Gujarat batsmen were able to play big innings, Sabbhineni Meghana and Sophie Dunkley landed on crease as openning pair. Meghana scored 24 off 15 balls and Dunkley managed 13 in 11 balls.
Harleen Deol played an important role in taking the team to 169 runs by playing a crucial inning of 46 runs in 32 balls. Apart from this, Ashley Gardner scored 25 and Dayalan Hemlata scored 21 runs.
As for the UP team chasing the target of 170 runs for the win, Warriorz got off to a very bad start. Kim Garth wreaked havoc, removing skipper Alyssa Healy (7) and Shweta Sehrawat (5) cheaply. After this, Tahilia McGrath, who came to bat, was made to walk even before opening the account. UP Warriors' score became three wickets for 20 runs in first 3 overs.

Annabel Sutherland gave the seventh blow to UP, who lost 6 wickets for 88 runs. She got Devika Vaidya caught, who could score 4 runs only.
After this, the pair of Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone took the front and brought the UP Warriorz to the threshold of victory. UP had to score 19 runs in the last 6 balls to win and this pair did this feat.
At one time UP had to score 64 runs in 24 balls to win, they achieved this seemingly impossible target. Grace Harris gave victory to UP Warriorz by hitting a six.
